The Behaviour Change
Clinic
For Families | FAQ
What types of tutors do you provide?
We provide ABA/VB
tutor with and without experience to families who
are looking to recruit tutors for either a new or
programme., we can not always match you with an
experienced tutor, although we do try our best.
_
Who are your
tutors?
Around 90% of our
applicants have experience in special needs, most of
them have experience in dealing with autism. This
does not necessarily mean they have ABA experience,
as many of our applicants have experience with
children with autism in a school, care home, or
respite care setting. ALL of our applicants wish to
work with children using ABA.
_
Do you check
references?
Yes, references are
checked, although sometimes we will forward you a CV
of an applicant whose references we are waiting to
hear back from. In all instances, the tutors
reference is available upon request.
_
Who employs the
tutor?
The tutor is self
employed. The Behaviour Change Clinic acts as an
agency and does not employ any tutors. You are
responsible for creating a contract between yourself
and the tutor, although we do provide guidance in
this area.
_
How much does it
cost?
There is a one off
placement cost of £25 for a inexperienced tutor and
£50 for an experienced tutor. You will not be
invoiced until you have confirmed that you have
hired the tutor and signed a contract, if
applicable. The service is of no cost to clients who
use our supervision services.
_
Is there a
guarantee?
We offer a 6 week
guarantee from the time you hire a tutor placed by
us.
_
How much do I pay
the tutor? Do you get any of that money?
We suggest that an
inexperienced tutor is paid £6-£9 per hour,
depending on education and experience. We suggest
that an experienced tutor is paid £10-£15 per hour,
depending on education and experience. It is up to
you to negotiate the rate of pay with the tutor. We
do not take any of the tutor's money, we only get
the placement fee.
_
Are the tutors CRB
checked?
Yes, all of our tutors
have an up to date CRB check.
_
Do you have tutors
in my area?
At present, we provide
tutors throughout London, Kent, Essex, and Surrey.
Please contact us if you live outside this area, as
we may still be able to help you.
_
How does the
service work? What is the process involved?
Once you register with
us, we will start sending you CV's of applicants
that match your criteria. If you are interested in
interviewing any of our candidates, we will arrange
it for you. We understand that some parents like to
"test drive" applicants, however, we ask that any
trial sessions are paid for at the going rate and
not exceed three sessions or one week, which ever is
shorter, before making a decision. When you have
decided to hire or not hire a tutor, you are
requested to contact us so we can either invoice you
or notify the tutor. |
